In this class we will explore multiple ways of handbuilding with clay, with the special addition of cone 6 firing for use of specialty and underglazes. From building fairy houses to crafting sturdy mugs for everyday use, hand building is our playground with a whole new glazing twist. Class will spend 4 weeks on new projects and 2 weeks finishing and glazing work.
All 6 week classes include: use of tools, 25 lbs. of clay, bisque and cone 6 firing, and open studio time to practice, alternating Saturday or Sunday (11am-5pm) throughout the 6 weeks of class. Available open studio dates will be published on the JBCP website calendar. All students are expected to follow studio policies as outlined in class and posted in the studio.
All JBCP classes have a minimum enrollment that must be met for the class to hold.
