Have a teen who wants to work with their hands and get creative? Now is your chance to get them on a potters wheel.
This is a condensed version of our Level 1 wheel throwing class just for teenagers. Covering the basics of working with clay on the wheel, its process and how to work safely in the studio: wedging, centering, pulling, trimming, glazing, and basic studio etiquette. No prior wheel experience necessary. Class fee includes everything you need while you are in the class: basic pottery tools, 15lbs. of clay, bisque and cone 6 glaze firing.
We even include 3 Open Studio days to practice, alternating Saturday or Sunday (11am-5pm) throughout the 3 weeks of class. Available open studio dates will be published on the JBCP website calendar. All students are expected to follow studio policies as outlined in class and posted in the studio.
Pots will be fired and ready for pick up roughly a week and half after the last class.
All JBCP classes have a minimum enrollment that must be met for the class to hold.
