Pottery Class Scholarships and Community Programing 

This scholarship is available to those who demonstrate financial need in the Miami Valley region and beyond. The award covers the cost of one qualifying person selected via lottery to enroll in one 6 week long pottery class at John Bryan Community Pottery.

This scholarship is available to those who demonstrate financial need in the Miami Valley region and beyond. The award covers the cost of one qualifying person selected via lottery to enroll in one 6 week long pottery class at John Bryan Community Pottery. This scholarship covers the cost of one class, and what is included in the class fee, additional clay must be purchased separately. 

Eligibility requirements: 

 

  • Open to adults 18 years + in the Miami Valley region.

  • Must submit a minimum of one document demonstrating the individual applying is on some form of financial assistance such as: SNAP, WIC, Section 8, Ohio Medicaid etc. 

  • Financial Aid Documents must clearly show the full name of the applicant as well as the type of assistance they receive. Sensitive information such as social security and case numbers can be hidden for privacy. 

  • One scholarship per year, per applicant.

  • Must indicate which class they are interested in attending on application. (Wheel throwing or handbuilding.)

  • Applications stay in the scholarship lottery for 1 year from application date. Lottery will be pulled 2 times yearly, with a total of 3 awards granted per 6 months.

  • Current studio members, staff, contractors and board members of JBCP and immediate family thereof are not eligible to apply. 

 

This Fund also supports community programing in collaboration with other area non-profits to host free or low cost workshops or special events for the community. Organizations can contact JBCP.YS@gmail.com about our community educational programing.
